Our Expertise

 

In Texas, construction or alteration projects with costs of $50,000 or more must be reviewed and inspected by a Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) for compliance with the ADA and Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS). Our firm ensures projects meet this statutory requirement while guiding teams from early planning through final inspection.

 

In addition to required RAS services, Stallings Accessibility Solutions provides broader accessibility consulting supported by ICC Accessibility Inspector/Plans Examiner certification, with expertise in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), applicable building codes, and accessibility standards. Services include accessibility audits, transition plans, barrier removal strategies, accessibility plan reviews, construction inspections, ROM reporting, and technical assistance. We help public and private clients reduce risk, improve usability, and create inclusive, compliant environments.

Our Story

 

Stallings Accessibility Solutions LLC was established in Dallas, Texas, as a certified Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), as well as a certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE). The firm was founded by Laura Lee Gunn, a Texas Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) and ICC-Certified Accessibility Inspector/Plans Examiner, who also serves as the District 10 Commissioner on the City of Dallas Commission on Disabilities.


The company was formed to address a demonstrated need for independent, technically accurate accessibility expertise within commercial, municipal, and public-sector development projects. The owner's interest in accessibility began early in life, influenced by her family background. Her grandfather, Gene Stallings, and her uncle, Johnny Stallings, who had Down syndrome, played an important role in shaping her awareness of accessibility needs and the importance of inclusive environments. These early experiences contributed to a long-standing commitment to improving access for individuals with disabilities and informed her professional focus in this field.
